STAFFORD, VA (July 18, 2025) – In a collaborative effort to support local seniors, GCubed, Inc. and G3CS, in partnership with Germanna Community College, donated 125 cell phones to the Healthy Generations Area Agency on Aging (HGAAA). The donation is part of a broader initiative to enhance the well-being of older adults in the region, and it reflects the core mission of both GCubed and its nonprofit, G3 Community Services (G3CS): to strengthen communities through collaboration, education, and service. GCubed and G3CS remain committed to investing in community development initiatives that create long-lasting impact.

“Industry involvement is critical to education and community development,” said Vernon Green Jr., CEO of GCubed, Inc., and Founder of G3CS. “GCubed and G3 Community Services are proud to support our community in many diverse areas—from STEM education to supporting the elderly. Economic development and community development go hand in hand.”

The devices will directly support HGAAA’s Revitalizing Virtual Cafes for Senior Connection and Well-Being project, a program designed to foster companionship, provide access to virtual resources, and support continued independence among older adults in the region.

“Healthy Generations Area Agency on Aging is extremely thankful and excited for the donation of over 100 cell phones from Vernon Green Jr., Founder & CEO of GCubed,” said Neil Tidman, Client Services Coordinator at HGAAA. “Healthy Generations is in the process of developing a Virtual Café to meet the needs of seniors in our community, and the donation of the

phones—along with other support from GCubed and Germanna Community College—will play a vital role in moving this project forward.”

This collaboration came to life through the efforts of Andrea Grant, Chief Operating Officer of CHC: Creating Healthier Communities. As a recent graduate of the Fredericksburg Leadership program through the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, the program members identified the need and brought together local resources. Andrea recognized the alignment of missions and helped facilitate the connection between GCubed, Inc. and HGAAA.

“Connecting community resources is a responsibility I take to heart,” said Grant. “As the daughter of a veteran and a caretaker for my aging parents, I’m proud to have facilitated the introduction between the veteran-led organization and the nonprofit revitalizing virtual cafés for seniors. This collaboration is a vital step in combating loneliness and fostering companionship among our seniors, demonstrating the strength of community connections.”

Germanna Community College plans to further expand the impact of the initiative by providing IT students to offer technical support for the devices, reflecting the college’s strong commitment to integrating education with community service.

“Germanna Community College is excited to partner with community organizations represented here today—GCubed, Inc., G3CS, and Healthy Generations Area Agency on Aging,” said Dr. Shashuna J. Gray, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development and Chief Academic Officer at Germanna. “Community is our middle name. I’m always looking for ways to support the community while providing experiential learning or internship opportunities for our students. We look forward to hosting health resource fairs for seniors at the four centers and are excited to explore additional opportunities as well.”

This partnership highlights the impact of community collaboration. By working together, GCubed, Inc., G3CS, Germanna Community College, and Healthy Generations Area Agency on Aging are helping ensure older adults have the tools and support they need to stay connected.

MEDIA CONTACT:
Sandra Osborn, Chief Communications Officer
Phone: 540-310-8002

STAFFORD, VA – On Tuesday, May 20, the Cyber4+ Cohort I (Class of 2026) from Stafford County Public Schools gathered for a powerful and inspiring luncheon at Robiolina Italian Cuisine. The event, themed “Cyber4+ Reflect – What’s Next,” was hosted and sponsored by Professor Vernon Green, CEO of GCubed Inc., and provided students with a unique opportunity to engage with accomplished mentors in cybersecurity, IT, and public service.

About Cyber4+

Launched in 2021 through the Virginia Department of Education’s CTE High School Innovation Grant, Cyber4+ is a groundbreaking partnership between Stafford County Public Schools, Germanna Community College, GCubed Inc., and the Stafford County Office of Economic Development and Tourism. The program creates a structured pathway for high school students to earn industry-recognized CompTIA certifications and prepare for careers in the rapidly growing cybersecurity field.

“Cyber4+ represents the very best of what education can be—forward-thinking, collaborative, and focused on preparing students for real-world success,” said Dr. Daniel W. Smith, Superintendent. “By connecting our students with industry mentors and equipping them with in-demand certifications, we are investing in their futures and strengthening the economic vitality and security of our community. We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Green for supporting and investing so deeply in our students and the Stafford community.”

Mentorship and Reflection

The luncheon served as a celebration of achievement, growth, and forward vision. Students reflected on their experiences in the program and connected with leaders who have guided their development and will continue to shape their futures.

Vernon Green, co-creator of Cyber4+ and a driving force behind its success, has provided both financial support and strategic direction since the program’s inception. During the event, he led a thoughtful discussion on personal growth, resilience, and the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

“As co-creator of Cyber4+, this program and the overall experience have been near and dear to my heart,” said Green. “Industry partnerships with K-12 education are vital to shaping a future-ready workforce. When business and education work together, we don’t just prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow, we empower them to create them. Seeing the progress these students have made gives me confidence we’re moving education in the right direction.”

Community and Industry Leaders Share Their Support

In a show of strong support for the program and its students, Delegate Joshua Cole attended the event as a guest of honor. He spoke about the importance of postsecondary opportunities and encouraged students to explore pathways in higher education, apprenticeships, and public service.

“Stafford’s Cyber4+ program, along with the vision of Vernon Green, laid the foundation for Virginia’s STEP UP program,” said Cole. “Together, they’re helping students gain the credentials and skills needed to compete in cybersecurity and IT. This is how we build pipelines to high-demand careers and give our students a direct path to lead in tomorrow’s tech economy.”

Students also heard from Dr. Alaysia Black-Hackett, CEO of ABH Solutions, LLC, who emphasized the importance of influence and legacy, encouraging students to recognize the broader impact of their efforts.

Ms. Ratisha Smith, CEO of Quad 22, shared her career journey in programming and entrepreneurship and introduced the Quad 22 Junior Software Developers Program, which provides high-quality, accessible training for individuals pursuing careers in tech. She also offered mentorship to interested students.

Mr. Devon Heholt, Executive Director of G3 Community Services and Senior Mentor to Cyber4+ Cohort I, has played a formative role in the program since its start. Through monthly mentoring sessions, Heholt has helped students build character, curiosity, and a strong sense of community.

Real-World Tools, Real-World Success

Deea Green, Stafford Schools’ CTE Coordinator, highlighted the importance of connecting classroom learning with real-world application. She continues to lead efforts to provide students with cutting-edge tools and supports, including ManTech computers, CompTIA Learn, TestOut lab simulations, and certification boot camps to prepare students for success.

With continued investment from educators, mentors, and industry partners, the Cyber4+ Cohort I students are well on their way to becoming the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

STAFFORD, VA (FEBRUARY 12, 2024)–The new original documentary film, THE THIN BLACK LINE, examines the emotional and challenging situations local African American Law Enforcement Officers face as the cost of being black behind the badge in suburban America.

The insightful 81-minute film is directed by actor-filmmaker Jim Klock, who also produces along with community leader-activist Vernon Green Jr. and Sheriff D.P. Decatur of Stafford, Virginia, and is currently available worldwide on all major streaming platforms from Global Digital Releasing.

THE THIN BLACK LINE delivers honest and unbiased insight from African American officers serving on the front lines just 35 miles south of our nation’s capital in Stafford, Virginia. With unprecedented access to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and its personnel, the film strives not only to help bridge the gap between minorities and law enforcement officers throughout America, but also within this local department. Focused on topics currently dominating our news outlets and social media, it showcases comprehensive and impassioned interviews from multiple male and female officers, sharing what being African American and a police officer means to them, especially during this volatile time in America where public tensions over racism have divided the public over the trust in American Policing.

Klock, a decorated veteran police officer who still serves as a part-time deputy sheriff with the Stafford Sheriff’s department, explains “My goal was to give a few of these officers the opportunities to open the eyes and hearts of people in America of what it looks like when these officers who are minorities first, who deal with racism and injustice themselves choose to put on a uniform and put themselves in harm’s way to make the communities and our world a better place.”

“Since George Floyd, and countless other tragedies, many minorities have left law enforcement. At the same time, it is very difficult to recruit minorities into the field,” shares Green, founder of Virginia based non-profit G3 Community Services. “I believe the answer to police reform is not less, but more minority representation in law enforcement, particularly in leadership positions. I hope this film, will help recruit our next generation of law enforcement with a renewed passion and commitment to community.”

A guidon is a great source of pride for a unit. Mr. Green’s donation is in line with our values and commitment to supporting those who so valiantly and selflessly serve our country.

Mr. Green shared how this donation came to fruition by visiting a former GCubed Inc. intern at his Army Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Speaking on this connection Mr. Green says:

“I mentored Angel (Angel Rivera, former GCubed intern) on going into the Army and this was his Advanced Individual Training (AIT) unit. While at Ft Gordon for TechNet, I was asked to speak to the Soldiers as a prior Warrant Officer and a Veteran business owner. While addressing the Soldiers, I saw the state of their guidons, a symbol of pride and respect during my days in training, were in horrible shape. Sitting with the ISG, he explained he had made numerous request but could not get the funding to replace them. GCubed, as a proud veteran owned company stepped in to purchase the five Guidons. Mentoring our youth, particularly Soldiers, on the importance of Cybersecurity to our Nation’s defense was an honor!” -Vernon Green Jr.

Continuing with our commitment in supporting those who serve/served in the Armed Forces, we at G3CS are excited to share pictures of the new guidons. We thank you all for your service. -Team G3CS

In partnership with our for-profit partner, GCubed, Inc., the Project Destiny program is committed to training leaders to excel beyond their potential. Recently, Army Chief Warrant Officer (CW4), Siwa’tu B. Spikes, shadowed GCubed, Inc. Founder & CEO, Vernon Green, Jr. CW4 Spikes shares his experience below:

“Spending the day with Vernon Green Jr., Founder and CEO of GCubed, Inc. was incredible! Honestly, saying that may be understating how impressed I was to see how influential he has been in building his company in five short years. As the “light workday” unfolded, I quickly learned how impactful a small business run by a retired veteran with a vision can be in his community.

I observed Vernon thoroughly prepare for a meeting with the Deputy Associates Executive Director of Strategic Acquisitions Center, a division of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The success of this meeting meant possible revenue generating business opportunities in the near future. Once we were in the meeting, I was amazed, and I became inspired. It was a remarkable sight to see Vernon demonstrate Selfless Service, a value we swore to uphold during our time in the Army together. This revenue generating meeting led to an additional potential opportunity for his non-profit, G3 Community Services, to partner with historically black colleges in the future. In our Army days, Vernon always gave back to the community and provided outreach to the youth. It is obvious that this still holds true.

The day closed out with a notable meeting with a political strategist to discuss plans to better the community of Stafford as a whole. The influence that GCubed, Inc. has developed under Vernon’s leadership is something extraordinary! This is the culture and impact I will seek when I transition from the military. Vernon and his team are phenomenal examples of what a great company embodies. I now have the blueprint on how to model my career once I retire from the Army.”

– Army Chief Warrant Officer (CW4), Siwa’tu B. Spikes
