The foundational CompTIA certification pathway starts with IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+) and ends with Security+ (Sec+). You can explore the description of each certification area to the right.

Each certification will count as 3 college credits for higher learning institutions such as Germanna Community College.

The ITF+ covers all IT fundamentals, creating a broader understanding and a helpful on-ramp to tech career pathways.

The A+ content covers the increased reliance on SaaS applications for remote work, how to remotely diagnose and correct common software, hardware or connectivity problems, evolving core technologies from cloud virtualization and Internet of Things (IoT) device security to data management and scripting, multiple operating systems, when to use them and how to keep them running properly, reflects the changing nature of the job, including how to assess if it’s best to fix something on site, or send it to a specialized provider.

Network+ helps you gain the knowledge and skills required to design and implement functional networks on the job.

The Security+ content is the only foundational cybersecurity certification emphasizing hands-on practical skills, ensuring the security professional is better prepared to problem solve a wider variety of today’s complex issues.
